I recently held a street surgery in Stechford Road, here’s a copy of the feedback I sent to residents.
Dear friend
I was in your street recently, conducting one of my weekly street surgeries. Sorry if I missed you. I thought you might be interested in what residents told me about the big picture nationally and locally:
Of the changes the Government is making,
- 55% are most worried about the government plans to raise VAT and petrol prices
- 40% say there is the right amount of police but 60% say there is not enough
The top priorities people wanted sorted out in the street and the local area were:
- Travellers getting onto land – make the site more secure.
- Parking on the pavements
- Keeping residents up-to-date with planning processes and applications.
We will now contact the relevant city council officers and make sure local concerns are tabled at the next Ward Committee. I’ll use the feedback on national issues to guide my work in Parliament. You can follow this at www.liambyrne.co.uk.
